Blogging Gigs

Uh...Ok, well maybe the title was just meant to pull you in, but, hey, that's what we call a "smart ad'. You know, this paid blogging thing is causing a bit of confusion. I have absolutely no problems with the ethical part of it. We're all grownups, and when you see a post, you're smart enough to judge if it's a shameless plug or a real "from-the-heart" post.

My concern is that paid blogging is going to create a vast bubble with a huge influx of part time bloggers, which will make it seem to advertisers like there's a huge influx in blog readers and they'll start pumping in money. At the end of the day, when the whole thing gets flushed down the loo, the advertisers will give every blog, good or bad, a goodbye kiss.

Here's a bastardized description of monetization from Wikipedia:

"Even intrinsically worthless items can be made into money, as long as they are difficult to make or acquire. Monetization may also refer.........to charging for something that used to be free or making money on a goods and services that were previously unprofitable."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monetization

Duh. They might as well change Monetization to "Paid Blogging" and the definition would still be accurate....

Since you got this far, you might as well go through the listings:

Salon.com looking for Blog writer/editor ( work at home job ) involving lots of television watching - Click here.
Technology Blog Writer needed - Click here.
Part Time Blogger Wanted - Career and Interview Advice - Click here.
Bones TV Show Blogger - Click here.
Master Blogger - Click here.
Comment: I'm not really sure this last one is telecommute, but it says part time, so I guess there's no harm in giving it a shot. Though what the company does may give you pause to think if you really, really want the job.....I mean, they most likely will conduct a background check on you, and if you have any skeletons rattling around in the old closet, maybe you should give it a pass.

Finally, as a reward for reaching this far down here's today's freebie:

A search engine with a difference - The search results are given out by humans who are waiting for user search queries. And these human search bots get paid for it. ( US only )
