San Francisco's loony left

Note: This post has nothing to do with freelance writers or freelancers. Well, not directly, at least. I suppose I could manage to weave a few threads around San Francisco's loony left and freelancing. But that's besides the point. What I really wanna do is write about libruls. The loonier the better. It's stress relief after writing a gigantic post about writers and publishers.

San Fransisco's Loony Left
www.valleywag.com - A webpage dedicated to the Google founders. Didn't really take a look, but looks nice.

First things first. Is San Francisco's liberal and progressive brigade loony? Yes. Newsweek tells me they voted to impeach both the Prez and the VP, they voted to withdraw troops from Iraq pronto, the SF school board voted to eject the junior ROTC from the city's high schools. All this while the rest of the country goes about passing initiatives to prohibit same sex marriage.

But what I'm really interested in is the culture which nurtures and allows the growth of trail-blazing technology and entrpreneurship. Is there a co-relation between the city's blue tilt and it's being a mecca for the whiz kids of the internet revolution? You tell me.

Is there any relation between the fact that Google is the internet's biggest star and the fact that 93% of Google employees contributed to Democrats in the last election cycle? You tell me.

Again, Google's plan to blanket San Francisco with free wireless internet has generated a storm. But for a different reason. While the rest of the country sucks up to the Telecom industry and stops blanket wireless internet coverage, San Francisco is arguing about whether Google's plan is an invasion of privacy. Also, it's no accident that Craigslist is headquatered in the Bay area.

Finally, any loony liberal reading this better not get cocky. San Francisco still sits smack bang on top of the San Andreas faultline. Take that!
